We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager or senior warehouse operative looking for progression with a valid forklift licence to join a well-established team on a full time, permanent basis. This is an amazing opportunity to work for a national retail organisation at their fast-paced distribution centre.
As the Warehouse Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Working alongside the Deputy Manager Lead, manage and organise a team of up to 50 staff across the whole site, monitoring productivity and other KPIs.
- Support the General Manager in maximising operational excellence, quality, and efficiency by overseeing logistics processes and management of workflows.
- Oversee online picking, pick location storage and replenishment, packing, outbound VAS, and shipping to fulfil store expectations.
- Ensure inbound of planned quantity and correct storage of products.
- Identify risks and issues within the team and support future development.
- Complete ongoing stock counts using the cycle count sheet.
- Oversee the unloading and loading of goods from vehicles and check packing lists.
- Oversee the warehouse team in the absence of the Deputy Warehouse Manager.
- Support the management with creating reports.
- Support with facilities management of the warehouse.
Core skills / experience required for this role:
- Good operational DC inbound and outbound experience to effectively lead operations of a team.
- Good understanding of warehouse management system.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to encourage collaboration and staff development by empowering others.
- Agile mindset with a positive attitude to change and meaningful growth.
- Inclusive and empathetic towards others whilst encouraging diversity.
- 2-3 years' FLT driving experience (counterbalance and reach).
- Strong IT skills, especially Excel.
