About the Role
As a CNC Turner at Pailton Engineering, you will be part of a team that manufactures safety-critical steering components for leading OEMs across the automotive, defence and heavy-duty industries. Based at our Coventry HQ, you will work on a two-shift rotating pattern (mornings and afternoons) and be responsible for the setting, operating, and maintaining of CNC lathes (Haas, Puma, Biglia, Dainichi). You will produce precision parts from route cards and technical drawings, working to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards. There is a strong focus on continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and quality throughout the shop floor.

What You Will Be Doing
- Set and operate CNC lathes (Haas, Biglia, Puma, Dainichi)
- Modify programmes and carry out tool changes and offsets
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and route cards
- Conduct quality checks (first-offs, measurements)
- Contribute to TPM, 6S, SMED and lean activities
- Maintain accurate records, labels, and production logs
- Work collaboratively and highlight improvement opportunities
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC lathes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Comfortable working in a production/quality-focused environment
- Proactive, team-oriented, and solutions-focused
Hours, Location & Pay
Location: Phoenix House, Holbrook Lane, Coventry, CV6 4AD
Hours: Rotating shifts
Mornings: 06:00–14:15 (Mon–Thu), 06:00–12:00 (Fri)
Afternoons: 14:45–23:00 (Mon–Thu), 12:30–18:30 (Fri)
Pay: £15.24 per hour + 10% shift allowance (for afternoons)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x on weekdays and weekends
