About You
You are an experienced lawyer (4-6PQE) ready to take on a challenging legal counsel role within a growing, global Software as a Service (SaaS) organisation in the HR tech space. With broad commercial law experience, including strong global data protection expertise and contract negotiation skills, your style is both resourceful and pragmatic. You have a proven ability to blend strong technical legal skills with commerciality and common sense. You embrace learning new things and enjoy rolling up your sleeves and giving everything a go. Ownership and autonomy in your role are key motivational drivers. The Opportunity
This permanent, full time role will be fast-paced and have a real international flavour as it forms part of our global legal team. SaaS experience is essential and a good understanding of the EU AI Act is advantageous. We are looking for someone who is interested in building a career in the growing tech sector, preferably with some in-house Legal Counsel experience in contract negotiation and global data protection compliance (Licensed to practice in England & Wales or Ireland). Reporting to our General Counsel based in Australia and working closely with our UK based Sales team and the broader global legal team, the role covers the following responsibilities:
- Client Contract Management and Review - you will work closely with the Sales Team on client contract negotiation and upsell opportunities
- Data Protection Compliance and AI compliance - you will lead the UK/EU data protection and AI compliance strategy
- General legal advice & providing timely, commercially-relevant legal advice on a range of issues that arise in a SaaS business (including privacy, IP, employment, litigation and supplier contracts)
