Job Description
- Lead the ongoing development of the finance function and financial reporting framework.
- Deliver timely, accurate management information to support business decision-making.
- Enhance financial controls, governance and operational processes.
- Provide budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management support.
- Deliver commercial analysis to improve performance, profitability and operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership to support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
- Act as a trusted adviser across a range of financial and business matters.
- Support board-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Fractional FD should meet the following criteria:
- Qualified accountant with experience operating in a very hands-on finance leadership role in a small (<£10m turnover) business with limited support.
- Proven ability to improve finance processes, reporting and controls within growing businesses.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial information into practical business insights.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment whilst maintaining a strategic perspective.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptable, pragmatic and capable of delivering impact in a flexible fractional capacity.
- Able to build credibility quickly and work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
