Job Description
- Oversee the financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage and develop a small Finance Team (5 reports), setting their objectives, and overseeing all day-to-day activities.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
- Responsible for preparing the month-end processes ensuring costs and income suitably accrued, prepaid, or deferred as appropriate.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends and provide strategic recommendations.
- Standard costs and sales margin analysis.
- Managing and continually improving departmental reporting and analysis, working with managers to understand the results and drive improvement.
- Partner with the key stakeholders of the businesses, playing a key role in improving financial performance.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience in a similar role.
- Previous people management experience.
- Experience of working in an industrial/Manufacturing/FMCG environment is ideal.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Strong systems knowledge, SAGE Preferably.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving business.
- Practice trained, 2nd step within industry - well sought after.
