Job Description
The Family Solicitor - Head of Department will be:
- Manage the family department in the Ripon office.
- Managing divorce cases including financial remedy work and ancillary relief.
- Handling children disputes and related litigation.
- Tackling family-law litigation matters (contested hearings, injunctions, enforcement etc).
- Supervising, mentoring and developing junior fee-earners and support staff.
- Building the department's client base, managing relationships and contributing to business growth.
- Collaborating with other departments (e.g., private client, conveyancing) to ensure cross-selling and holistic service.
- Reporting to senior management on performance, forecasts and key metrics.
The Successful Applicant
The Family Solicitor - Head of Department should be / have:
- A solicitor in family law - ideally at least 5+ years' experience dealing with divorce, financial remedies, children disputes and family litigation.
- Experienced in managing or supervising juniors.
- Strong in all aspects of family litigation - including contested hearings, injunctions, settlement negotiations and enforcement.
- Dealing with business development, building client relationships and cross-selling services.
- Excellent communicator, pragmatic, with strong client-service focus and ability to work in a regional environment.
