Job Description
Mechanical Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer, Reading:
- Provide technical support for the manufacture of electro-mechanical products and spare parts
- Lead sustaining engineering projects from initial concept through to implementation and verification
- Identify and implement product and process improvements within manufacturing operations
- Support engineering change activities covering both product designs and manufacturing processes
- Establish, maintain and transfer manufacturing lines, including new production line introductions
- Manage engineering documentation in accordance with quality management requirements
- Work cross-functionally to investigate root causes and resolve manufacturing and product issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities focused on operational performance and project effectiveness
This job is NOT a Design Engineer role
The Successful Applicant
Mechanical Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer, Reading:
- HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within manufacturing engineering, sustaining engineering or operational engineering roles
- Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, manual assembly and product test processes - Highly desirable but not essential
- Understanding of validation and verification activities associated with engineering changes
- Experience using 3D CAD modelling software - Highly desirable but no essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and accountable approach
