About Our Client

Our client are a well known property and housing contractor based in the Midlands. Seeking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our East Midlands team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take commercial ownership of a diverse portfolio of maintenance, refurbishment, and social housing projects. You will play a key role in controlling costs, managing client relationships, and mitigating commercial risks.

Job Description

  • Prepare and evaluate cost estimates for works, materials, and services.
  • Manage commercial relationships with clients, ensuring variations and changes are agreed.
  • Produce accurate cost-to-complete and value forecasts, reporting variances promptly.
  • Review contract terms and highlight risks and obligations to the delivery team.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, legal, and client requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or property maintenance.
  • Knowledge of refurbishment and/or social housing projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management expertise.
  • Excellent negotiation and client-facing skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong financial and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach.
