Job Description
- Support the Head of Indirect Tax in managing all UK VAT matters and provide cover when required.
- Lead aspects of the Group's MTD VAT compliance, including maintaining and enhancing automated VAT processes and workflows.
- Act as a key user of the Group's VAT compliance system, supporting onboarding of newly acquired entities and maintaining VAT group configurations.
- Support finance and business integration projects, including VAT input into acquisitions and restructures.
- Assist in identifying VAT efficiency opportunities and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Compile, review and support submission of the UK Group VAT return, with involvement in non-UK VAT compliance where required.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of VAT policies and documentation, including PESM and input tax recovery methodologies.
- Provide VAT guidance to finance teams on liabilities, property transactions, AP/AR queries and contract reviews.
- Support maintenance of the VAT risk and control framework, including BRR+ and SAO documentation.
- Assist with VAT due diligence and health checks for M&A activity and newly acquired businesses.
- Deliver VAT training and support to Accounts Payable, finance teams and the wider business.
- Liaise with HMRC and external advisors as required.
- Act as a point of contact for VAT matters relating to entity liquidations.
