The Procurement Support Officer provides vital operational and system support to the procurement team, focusing on maintaining and improving the platform. The role ensures accurate data across supplier onboarding, contract management, and performance tracking, while supporting efficient, compliant procurement processes through close collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
The Procurement Officer provides essential operational and administrative support to the procurement function, with a particular focus on maintaining and optimising procurement systems and data. The role will support the day-to-day use and continuous improvement of the Jaggaer procurement platform, ensuring accuracy and consistency across contract management, supplier onboarding and supplier performance data. This role works closely with procurement colleagues, contract owners, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and fully supported by high-quality system records and documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Management & Compliance Focus: All supplier-facing governance tasks, compliance monitoring and regulatory readiness.
- Supplier onboarding & vetting (docs, policies, financials)
- Maintain and update Approved Supplier List
- Track supplier ESG, CSR & risk documentation
- Maintain supplier compliance files for audit
- Monitor for changes in UK procurement law, ESG, Modern Slavery
- Respond to internal & external audit requests
- Maintain procurement risk register
- Deliver procurement induction for new starters
- Manage the Procurement Mailbox (triage, assign, clean)
- Maintain legal guidance notes folder
- Organise supplier events, demo days, innovation showcases
The Successful Applicant: As a Procurement Officer, you'll support the team with supplier data, contracts, and procurement systems like Jaggaer. Some experience in procurement is helpful, and you'll be involved in keeping processes accurate, organised, and running smoothly.
- Prior experience in a procurement, contracts administration, or business support role, ideally in a complex organisation.
- Ideally you will have working knowledge of procurement systems; experience with Jaggaer or similar (e.g. Coupa, Ariba, Oracle) is highly desirable.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in managing contract, supplier and transactional data.
- Ability to follow structured processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to support users and engage effectively with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, for data handling and document production.
- A proactive, well-organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Interest in procurement, contract management, or supplier governance with a willingness to develop further.
- Procurement or commercial qualification (e.g. CIPS Level 3-4 or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
