Job Description

  • Plan and prepare tenders, budgets, and contract renewals.
  • Draft and review specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
  • Appoint and administer contractors under University terms or JCT contracts.
  • Monitor contractor performance, KPIs, and quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Manage payments, disputes, and supplier relationships.
  • Deputise for the Contract Manager when required.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Health & Safety, and other University departments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Significant experience in commercial contract management.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience in procurement practices and supplier management.
  • Awareness of market trends and costs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Problem‑solving ability with a proactive "can‑do" attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to personal development and customer awareness.
  • Ordinary National Certificate or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Health & Safety qualifications would be beneficial (IOSH or NEBOSH).
