About Our Client
Our client is a well-established professional services firm that continues to experience strong growth. As part of this expansion, they are reviewing their finance function, which has created this new Financial Controller opportunity.
Job Description
Create and process sales and purchase invoices, receipts, and bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, annual accounts, budgets, and ad-hoc reports
Manage payroll, including salaries, bonuses, pensions, PAYE, interns, and year-end processes (P60s, P11Ds)
Calculate and submit quarterly VAT returns for multiple entities
Handle client onboarding, invoicing, PO requests, and debt chasing
Complete company secretarial tasks, including confirmation statements and updating company information
Liaise with directors on EMI scheme, office management and refurbishments
Prepare partnership and other tax returns; liaise with pension trustees
Support auditors and maintain compliance with financial and regulatory requirements
The Successful Applicant
A successful Financial Controller should have:
A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience.
Proven expertise in leading the financial management and reporting within a small business
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in financial software (QuickBooks is desirable) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Shows initiative and readiness to assist with ad-hoc projects and evolving priorities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders.
