Job Description

The Internal Audit Manager will be tasked with:

  • High-Risk Operational Audits - Plan, execute, and oversee audits in high-risk operational areas, ensuring findings are robust, actionable, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Other Audits - Leading audits into other areas including the Service Centre's operations.
  • Incident and Fraud Investigation - Lead or support investigations into operational incidents, fraud, or misconduct. Ensure thorough evidence gathering, documentation, and reporting.
  • Police Liaison - Act as the primary point of contact for police and other enforcement agencies during investigations. Ensure appropriate handling of sensitive information and compliance with legal protocols.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Internal Audit Manager should have:

  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Keen to travel including overnight stays
  • Proven experience in internal audit, in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity and professional ethics.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to deliver training and engage with senior stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Professional audit or accounting qualification (e.g., IIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience in retail, distribution, or service centre environments.
  • Familiarity with audit software and data analytics tools.
  • Experience in fraud investigation and police liaison.
  • Experience managing and developing audit professionals.
