Job Description
The SHE Manager will form a crucial part of the site leadership team, directly reporting to the Group Production Director. This is an influential role responsible for developing and leading the SHE behaviours, culture and longer-term strategy for the site. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid HSE background who are ready to advance their career.
You will be responsible for:
- Improving and influencing behavioural safety for all employees across the site
- Demonstrating a hands-on approach, ensuring SHE processes are adhered to on a day-to-day basis across the site
- Managing implementation of new and existing SHE related legislation, including ISO 14001 & ISO 45001, rules, audits, permits and inspections with internal and external stakeholders
- Thorough accident investigation including root cause analysis and putting preventative measures in place to prevent recurrence
- Coordinating site-wide H&S training plans and risk assessments (including general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention, PUWER and LOLER)
- Producing and coordinating the annual SHE action plan and longer term SHE roadmap
The Successful Applicant
As SHE Manager, this candidate will be confident in their ability to work autonomously and influence and improve SHE related behaviours and culture across the site. This role is also an opportunity for an experienced HSE supervisor/advisor to take the next step forward in their career. This candidate will have a range of the following:
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role within industrial manufacturing (chemical knowledge advantageous but not essential)
- Previous experience of managing ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards and compliance
- Strong written & verbal communication skills with the ability to manage both up and down
- Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strength of character, drive and resilience
