About Our Client
Excited to be partnering with an established business based in Medway who are seeking a Qualified Finance Manager to join them on a full-time and permanent basis. We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Finance Manager with proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction or engineering sector. This position is site-based and the successful candidate must drive to get to the remote site.
Job Description
- Managing the day-to-day finance operations, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, and subcontractor payments.
- Overseeing invoicing, applications, and credit control processes, with a focus on reducing aged debt.
- Controlling supplier payments and ensuring accurate cost allocation to contracts.
- Managing payroll processes and ensuring compliance with CIS, PAYE, and HMRC requirements.
- Preparing draft monthly management accounts and supporting financial reporting cycles.
- Performing reconciliations (bank, VAT, balance sheet) and maintaining audit-ready records.
- Implementing and strengthening financial controls across the business.
- Leading, developing, and managing the accounts team to ensure high performance and efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
- Must be fully qualified (ACCA, ACA or CIMA).
- Proven experience in construction or engineering environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CIS, payroll, and ledger management.
- Experience managing or supervising finance teams.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- A proactive, process-driven approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
