Based in South West London and Surrey border, the business is a luxury travel subsidiary with a turnover of circa £270 million. Their parent is owned by a Private Equity firm and they are in a period of sustained growth. The business provides luxury travel and leisure holidays. In 2023, they posted record performance and in 2024, they have invested heavily in expanding their offering, underpinning their strategy to elevate and upgrade their offering to their repeat customer base and attract new customers.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Business Partner will be responsible for 3 direct and 4 indirect reports both in the UK and overseas and will be responsible for:

  • Developing, monitoring and reviewing consistent financial and operational base KPIs.
  • Developing monthly reporting packs and working with SLT to provide financial insight and accountability.
  • Reviewing monthly financial results (as part of the month-end process), variance analysis and commentary in conjunction with VP Operations and Managers.
  • Preparing monthly forecasts and annual budgets in conjunction with the managers, for review with the Head of Commercial Finance and Finance Director.
  • Business partnering with the Central and Operations Managers across the business to provide continuous financial and operational improvement, challenge current ways of working, and drive insight that links financial reports to business strategies.
  • Working closely with the Managers to develop margin, pricing, and profitability analysis, and KPI data for the operations.
  • Providing analysis and insight for managing costs - identifying trends in the spend across business lines.
  • Assisting in the preparation of business cases for new investment opportunities or strategic business decisions.
  • Identifying areas for development and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Assisting with the annual audit.
  • Undertaking any other duties and projects identified.

Successful Applicant:

A successful Finance Business Partner should have:

  • 5+ years accounting experience; CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified.
  • Previous line manager experience.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to use numbers to provide suggestions for business performance enhancement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, manage various projects at once, and work under own initiative.
  • Strong communication & influencing skills, particularly in explaining finance information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Attention to detail, highly analytical with the ability to identify data patterns and analyse large volumes of data.
  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. V-lookup, Index / Match, pivot tables and pivot charts, macros and VBA, complex nested formulae). Power BI experience or ability to use this will be required.
  • SAP knowledge preferable but not essential.
  • Intermediate PowerPoint skills.

Key outputs of the role require regular presentation of data and findings in presentation format e.g. monthly business reviews, deep dives.
