Job Description
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the International Financial Accountant will take ownership of the financial reporting for a portfolio of international legal entities. Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing monthly financial reporting packs and delivering accurate, fully supported balance sheet reconciliations for all international entities.
- Managing inter-company reconciliations and supporting transfer pricing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Preparing VAT returns via group systems and coordinating with overseas agents to ensure timely filings, payments and refunds.
- Supporting year-end processes, preparing statutory accounts and leading interactions with external auditors.
- Providing technical guidance to junior finance staff and contributing to cross-functional finance projects.
- Ensuring strong financial controls, accuracy of postings and compliance with local requirements across all entities.
- Upholding the organisation's values and contributing to a positive, high-performance finance culture.
The Successful Applicant
The successful International Financial Accountant should be:
- A qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with strong technical accounting and statutory reporting experience.
- Experienced in preparing financial statements, VAT returns and supporting external audits.
- Comfortable working with international entities and liaising with overseas teams; exposure to multinational environments is advantageous.
- Skilled in accounting systems and data extraction, with strong Excel capability.
- Detail-oriented, analytical and confident managing deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
- A strong communicator able to collaborate effectively with internal teams, auditors and overseas agents.
- Experienced with various international GAAPs (highly desirable, not essential).
Candidates from the following backgrounds will be well positioned for this role: Group Accounting, Financial Accounting roles with international scope, or Big 4 / Top 10 audit with complex, multi-entity clients.
