Job Description
- Produce monthly management accounts including Balance Sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Assist with cash flows reporting
- Support the preparation of the annual budgets
- Produce consolidated financial and management reports for the Board of Directors across multiple entities
- Support the year-end audit process, including posting journals, preparing supporting schedules, and completing Group consolidation schedules in compliance with FRS 102 and current legislation
- Responsible for the preparation, review and timely submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines
- Ensure a high level of accuracy, reconciliation with management accounts, and achievement of deadlines
- Liaise with external auditors and assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register
- Finance system maintenance
- Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures
- Proactively support the implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing processes
- Assist the Group Accountant with ad-hoc projects and reporting
- Ensure that all bookkeeping, documentation, records and systems are accurate and kept up to date
The Successful Applicant
- A strong background in Accounting & Finance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A relevant qualification or working towards one in Accounting or Finance
- The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
- ACCA/CIMA with a proven track record of attention to detail, producing accurate work and meeting deadlines
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations would be an advantage
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs), Word and SharePoint
- A professional, diligent and approachable manner
