Our Cambridge based client is looking for an Interim Charity Financial Controller.
Job Description
Interim Charity Financial Controller duties
- Managing the month-end close process and overseeing global balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reviewing and approving payment runs and payroll submissions.
- Ensuring financial reporting is accurate, timely and compliant.
- Managing statutory accounting requirements and supporting the annual audit process.
- Reviewing submissions from international offices and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained.
- Acting as a senior point of escalation for finance queries across the business.
- Leading and supporting a small transactional finance team.
- Supporting the onboarding and eventual handover to a permanent Financial Controller if applicable
- The Successful Applicant
Interim Charity Financial Controller candidate
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including UK GAAP and FRS102.
- Experience managing statutory accounts and year-end audits.
- Strong balance sheet and financial controls experience.
- Experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships quickly.
- A proactive and self-sufficient approach with the confidence to operate autonomously.

- Charity SORP knowledge.
- Experience of restricted and unrestricted funding.
- Multi-currency or international group experience.
