About Our Client
We are a long-established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bolton, and we\’re looking for a reliable and detail-focused Bookkeeper / Payroll Assistant to manage the internal finances of our practice.
Job Description
- Manage practice bank reconciliations and cashflow
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Process staff payroll, including RTI submissions and pension contributions
- Handle VAT returns and liaise with HMRC where necessary
- Support internal budgeting and forecasting processes
- Manage supplier payments and staff expense claims
The Successful Applicant
A successful Bookkeeper / Payroll should have:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll, ideally within a professional services environment
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential financial information
