As the Operations Manager you will take full responsibility of a key client warehouse environment, ensuring operational efficiencies, service levels, people management and operational targets are met. Based at our client's site in Bedfordshire you will effectively support current and future contracts supporting the current business plan to introduce new customers. The role includes continuous improvement, business systems and process development opportunities whilst maintaining and developing customer relationships at a tactical level.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Achieve budgeted levels of productivity and adherence to all KPI's and delivery of service levels as contractually agreed.
- Effectively plan warehouse layout to deliver optimum space storage and operational efficiencies.
- Develop close working relationships with the customer.
- Build employee engagement amongst the workforce and develop action plans accordingly in conjunction with HR.
- Develop strong working relationship with colleagues through open forums and engagement meetings.
- Develop a close working relationship with the site management team ensuring departmental contributions to the overall network efficiencies.
- Encourage innovation through the management team to deliver Continuous Improvement targets for the site.
- Deliver legal compliance and governance to Health and Safety Legislation.
- Manage the deployment of labour, ensuring all operational deadlines are met.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of our client's operation in Bedfordshire and will be able to demonstrate the following experience:
- Current warehouse leadership experience (ideally with team size 100+).
- Previous experience within an eCommerce logistics operation is preferred.
- A people first approach to leadership and a track record in building engaged and highly efficient teams.
- A commercial approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and with external customers.
- Advanced warehouse system(s) knowledge preferred.
What's on Offer
A competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £65,000 will be on offer to the successful candidate. Additionally there will be the opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus of up to 10% alongside further company wide benefits.
