What will you be doing? Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for leading and guiding client profitability analysis, both during the bid process and afterwards. The role will involve the annual budgeting and forecasting process, analysing business performance and providing commercial support across the business. The Commercial Manager will play a critical role in contributing towards business revenue, profit targets and delivering success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercially appraise and review all current bid opportunities to support the Sales Enablement function in ensuring solutions are both commercially and financially feasible for approval purposes.
- Undertake commercial audits to understand profitability by client, measure against existing contracts, understand contract margin degradation and identify other margin opportunities through cost reductions or enhanced sales.
- Be the main point of contact for all new and existing opportunities, linking the Sales team, Finance, Pre-Sales and Operations.
- Exercise governance by measuring and monitoring progress and keeping an eye on the bottom line.
Team Leadership: Work with colleagues, with or without line management authority, to achieve results through enthusiasm, motivation, commitment and determination.
Organisational Awareness: Understand and learn the power relationships in one’s own organisation or in other organisations (customers, suppliers etc). Identify who the real decision-makers are and the individuals who can influence them; predict how new events or situations will affect individuals and groups within the organisation.
Qualified accountant with significant experience of operating within a commercial environment. Upper Second-Class degree.
