Salary: £21,143 - £22,409 Pro-rated salary / £30,204 - £32,013 per annum (full-time equivalent)

Hours: 25.375 hours per week (flexible working pattern available)

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult and Community Learning Department at The Trafford College Group. You will play a key role in helping us achieve our vision to be a leading provider of education and skills that supports community cohesion and drives local and regional productivity. As a Community Development Worker, you will work flexibly across the community, helping to transform lives by identifying learning opportunities and supporting the delivery of high-quality community based provision. From initial engagement through to successful course delivery, you will play a vital role in achieving Community Learning targets.

Work closely with the Community Learning Leader to deliver responsive and high-quality learning provision. You will research and identify local community needs using insight, data and partnership engagement to maximise opportunities. A key part of the role will involve working closely with Neighbourhood Leads, community organisations, and local partners, with a particular focus on engaging hard-to-reach and underrepresented communities, ensuring inclusive access to learning opportunities. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of partners, agencies and local groups, supporting the development of inclusive community learning programmes across the Stockport area.

About You

If you are passionate about supporting communities, there has never been a better time to join Trafford College Group. You will have substantial recent experience as a Community Development Worker, alongside proven experience of partnership and inter-agency working. You will also have experience within post-16 education, including Skills for Life and Community Learning provision, and a strong understanding of developments in Adult and Community Learning. You will have experience of engaging with diverse communities, including those who may face barriers to participation, and be confident in building trust and relationships within local neighbourhoods. This role will suit someone who requires flexibility in their working hours and is willing to travel regularly. Access to transport is essential.
