We are looking for a Commercial Assistant for a Construction company based near to Caterham in Surrey. Our Client\βs office is based in a very pleasant but semi rural location and so you must drive and have use of a car and live within easy travelling distance. The position involves supporting the commercial team as they tender and estimate new projects, purchase equipment, assign contractors and generally commercially manage ongoing construction projects. You will work in a varied support role alongside several experienced quantity surveyors with the opportunity to develop professionally. There is substantial scope to move up within the team and this client would prefer to recruit someone with a desire to progress, possibly into a position as a Quantity Surveyor. Your day to day work will include; selection of suppliers, assisting in developing project bids, buying, liaising with site teams and commercial control and management of ongoing project accounts. Some training will be given however you must have some relevant and applicable experience to build upon. Our client is slightly open minded about what sector of construction this could come from, but you must have some applicable relevant commercial experience within a construction business environment.
