About Our Client: Our client for the Vice President of Sales opportunity is a global consumer packaged goods food manufacturer. The overall organization has production in close to 20 countries and their brands and products are distributed over 50 countries globally.
The Vice President of Sales is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Managing Director North America. This role has full responsibility and accountability for sales and revenue generation, strategy, and customer engagement across all segments and channels. In addition to leading the sales and commercial function, this position plays a strategic role in shaping company overall priorities and ensuring that commercial execution aligns with overarching business goals and objectives. This role shares responsibility for overall business performance and company culture, providing a customer-focused approach in strategic planning and helping drive sustainable long-term growth and value through a more structured process and data-driven approach.
- Develop and implement a robust, multi-channel sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives and revenue targets.
- Hold full P&L responsibility for sales performance across all customer channels - Retail, Clubs, Food Service, and Private Label.
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales organization by setting clear goals, driving accountability, and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Oversee Revenue Growth Management, including customer segmentation, pricing strategy, promotional investment, and product/customer mix optimization.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to support business growth and expansion.
- Direct sales forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue planning to support data-driven decision-making and effective resource allocation.
- Establish consistent sales processes, tools, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and effectiveness across all channels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other departments to ensure alignment between sales strategies and broader company goals.
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities, providing strategic insights to the ELT.
- Lead business development efforts targeting new markets, customer segments, and channel expansion.
- Design and deploy sales training programs to enhance team capability and performance.
- Champion continuous improvement across sales operations to streamline workflows and improve customer experience.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance brand presence and explore partnership opportunities.
- Personally lead or support negotiation of high-value, strategic deals when needed, manage pricing and tariffs communications with customers for imported products.
The Successful Applicant:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15 plus years of progressive sales leadership experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
- Must have experience in Food and Beverage.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth across multiple channels and segments - retail, food service, private label.
- Expertise in sales strategy, process optimization, and performance management.
- Strong ability to identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen.
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and unify teams.
- Experience building and managing relationships with key clients and partners at all organizational levels.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment in transformation.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%, with flexibility for additional travel as required.
