This opportunity is with a medium-sized organisation in the financial services sector, recognised for its focus on innovation and policy development.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support open banking initiatives.
  • Engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to build strong relationships.
  • Monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory developments impacting open banking.
  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, and policy papers.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, forums, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align public affairs activities with organisational goals.
  • Advocate for the organisation's position on key policy matters in the financial services sector.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on emerging policy trends and risks.

The Successful Applicant

The suitable candidate:

  • Graduate with a relevant degree in politics, public policy, public relations or communications, and at least seven years' equivalent level work experience.
  • Significant experience of supporting senior policymakers (including Parliamentarians, Ministers and government or regulatory officials), providing focused briefing material to support their and their organisations public affairs objectives.
  • Experience of managing relationships and liaising with external stakeholders across Parliament, Government, media and senior industry representatives.
  • Experience and understanding of corporate affairs, including public affairs, public relations and politics.
  • Strong network within UK Parliament, Government, trade bodies and other organisations connected to financial and digital issues.
  • Experience and understanding of some of the following - Open Banking, payments, financial services and broader fintech and digital policy issues.
  • Experience of supporting and managing corporate events, including collaboration with colleagues across an organisation.
