Job Description
- Develop synthetic strategy using state-of-the-art science for the synthesis and functionalization of peptides and custom non-natural amino acids.
- Solid and solution phase synthesis, isolation, and characterization of novel peptides.
- High-throughput experimentation (HTE) to screen and optimize novel synthetic transformations on peptides.
- Present data and reports on project status at group and departmental meetings.
- Advance personal and team development through training, conferences, internal meetings & symposia.
The Successful Applicant
- PhD is required in peptide, synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry, with at least 5-8 years solid industrial experience.
- A track record of achievements in the synthesis of complex molecules and methodology development with deep knowledge of modern synthetic and analytical techniques.
- Experience and knowledge of solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), macrocyclization chemistry, the design and synthesis of constrained macrocycles, and late-stage functionalization (LSF).
- Experience and knowledge of chemical biology and biophysical techniques such as bioconjugation, permeability measurements, conformation analysis, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of peptide screening approaches - phage display, cDNA/mRNA display technologies, etc.
- Experience of working in an interdisciplinary, high-performing team environment with a proven track record of successful collaboration.
