Job DescriptionDevelop and implement transport strategies to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Manage and lead a team of transport professionals, providing guidance and support.
Monitor transport budgets and performance metrics, making data-driven decisions.
Ensure the maintenance and safety of the vehicle fleet.
Collaborate with other departments to align transport activities with business objectives.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the transport function.
The Successful ApplicantA successful Director of Transport should have: Proven experience in transport management within the specialist logistics services sector.
Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience in budgeting and performance management.
Ability to analyse data and implement strategic improvements.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
