Job Description
- Develop and implement transport strategies to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage and lead a team of transport professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor transport budgets and performance metrics, making data-driven decisions.
- Ensure the maintenance and safety of the vehicle fleet.
- Collaborate with other departments to align transport activities with business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the transport function.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Director of Transport should have:
- Proven experience in transport management within the specialist logistics services sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in budgeting and performance management.
- Ability to analyse data and implement strategic improvements.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
