A large, globally active investment bank operates a well-established Global Markets platform with a strong presence in credit trading across developed and emerging markets. The bank is known for its collaborative trading culture, active participation in primary issuance, and continued investment in technology and data-driven trading capabilities.

This position sits within a well-established Global Credit Trading franchise covering Emerging Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, alongside European and US credit products. The desk is an active market maker in hard-currency Emerging Markets credit and plays a meaningful role in both secondary trading and primary bond issuance.

The successful candidate will join a focused Emerging Markets credit team and is expected to assume risk immediately, contributing to flow trading, market-making and client-facing activity across CEEMEA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make competitive, consistent markets in Emerging Markets hard-currency credit, including cash bonds and CDS
  • Actively manage risk and deliver stable, sustainable revenues across the credit cycle
  • Trade and provide cover across additional EM sectors as required by the desk
  • Support and participate in primary market activity, working closely with syndicate and DCM
  • Provide timely market colour and trade ideas to Sales and clients
  • Identify opportunities to grow franchise relevance, market share and product income
  • Actively promote the bank's credit trading franchise internally and externally
  • Embrace and promote the use of trading technology, data analytics and electronic execution
Experience & Qualifications
  • Essential
  • 5+ years' experience trading Emerging Markets credit within an investment bank
  • Proven track record trading CEEMEA risk, ideally with exposure to MENA corporates and financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of fixed income products, pricing, hedging and risk management
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-moving trading environment
  • University degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
  • Desirable
  • Degree from a top-tier university; background in finance, economics, maths, engineering or similar
  • Postgraduate or advanced degree
  • Coding or data skills (e.g. Python, Java)
  • Additional languages
