The organisation operates at scale, serving millions of customers across the UK and internationally, and is committed to delivering excellence in both products and services. They are undergoing a major transformation project currently to re‑engineer their processes and systems.

Description: We are recruiting for an Interim Director of Finance – Shared Financial Services to provide support for multiple projects within their Financial SSC. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for global finance operations and governance, ensuring best‑in‑class service delivery and operational performance.

  • Lead financial services teams, including governance of outsourced finance operations (PTP, OTC, RTR, Master Data, Controls).
  • Manage relationships with global outsourcing partners, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are met.
  • Oversee contract governance and performance management frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls, raising risks appropriately.
  • Partner with divisional CFOs, VPs, and corporate finance teams across a complex matrix structure.
  • Drive process standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership for onshore and offshore teams, including a large offshore resource base.
  • Develop and deliver a digitisation road‑map and automation initiatives (RPA, workflow tools).

Profile: Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in a large, complex organisation. Strong governance, compliance, and operational finance expertise. Skilled in managing outsourced service providers and large‑scale teams with direct exposure to SSCs. Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities, delivering major projects. Experience in transformation, process improvement and digital finance initiatives. Leadership and development of large teams through change and transformation.

Job Offer: 9‑12 month contract £125,000 – £145,000 pa + car allowance (depending on level of skills and experience.)
