Overview
As Finance Director – CFO Designate at a fast-growing, customer-focused consumer finance business, you will shape financial strategy and oversee planning, risk, and reporting. You will lead a finance team, partner with senior leadership, and drive growth through insights and robust controls. The role combines strategic finance with hands-on management of capital, liquidity, and regulatory compliance. This position offers the chance to shape the company’s financial trajectory in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.
Pay / Benefits
- Competitive salary 150,000–180,000 per annum

- Flexible working: hybrid (3 days in Midlands office, rest from home)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with objectives
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for accuracy and efficiency
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership to drive growth
- Manage financial risks and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead and develop the accounting/finance team
- Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and performance improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to support operations and decision-making
- Work with Group on funding strategies, banking relationships, and high-volume transactions to safeguard capital and liquidity
Key requirements
- Professional qualifications in accounting or finance (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Extensive leadership experience in accounting and finance within a consumer finance or unsecured lending business
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies to drive business success
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience in managing and mentoring high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to liaise with stakeholders
