About Our Client

Our client for the Director North America Compensation and Benefits opportunity is a global industrial manufacturing company and is ranked in the Global Fortune 500. This organization services customers in a range of industries including, but not limited to automotive, industrial, construction, agriculture, oil and gas, energy, packaging, appliances, and more.
The Director North America Compensation and Benefits will be leading the North American compensation and benefits programs, strategies and implementation and is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing compensation and benefits strategies that attract and retain talent, align with organizational goals, and drive employee satisfaction. This individual will report to the Vice President of HR North America, and led the North America region for the compensation and benefits. This person will also work on a broader level with the global headquarters in Europe on various global initiatives and overall compensation and benefits programs and policies. This person will work in a matrix environment within North America and Globally. This role is based on the Illinois and Indiana border and is on site 3-4 days a week. Relocation is required for non local candidates.

Job Description

  • Design, implement, and assess compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, bonuses, long term incentive, and performance-driven pay.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking studies to ensure competitive compensation offerings.
  • Lead job evaluations, grade profiling and compensation levels for all levels of employees
  • Manage the annual salary review process, including merit-based increases and adjustments.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures and performance improvements over compensation and benefits programs
  • Contribute to negotiations with insurance providers and financial institutions, ensuring the administration of benefits programs meets organizational needs.
  • Develop and manage employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement savings, wellness initiatives, and leave policies.
  • Support the organization\’s commitment to Health and Safety throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Foster relationships with benefits vendors and service providers, ensuring efficient delivery of services.
  • Evaluate the impact of benefits programs, making recommendations for enhancements when necessary.
  • Ensure that all benefits programs comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and update compensation and benefits policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that accurate records and reports are kept, in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about relevant labor laws, tax policies, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and present reports on compensation and benefits strategies and metrics to senior leadership.
  • Effectively communicate compensation and benefits programs to executives, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Provide training and guidance to sister companies on various compensation and benefits topics

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related
  • 15 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • At least 5 years of experience leading compensation and benefits functions
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent communication skills with he ability to work in a global matrix environment
  • Solid problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex information into clear insights.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience in b2b manufacturing preferred
