Job Description:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and support on finance-related matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex financial agreements and contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support client needs and organizational goals.
  • Advise clients on financial transactions, including structuring and risk assessment.
  • Assist in managing legal documentation and processes related to financial services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the legal department by supporting various initiatives and projects.

The Successful Applicant: A successful candidate should have:

  • 4-5 years of leveraged finance experience at a major law firm.
  • Strong experience representing private equity sponsors, borrowers, and/or lenders.
  • Excellent drafting skills and deep understanding of financing structures and documentation.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; member in good standing of the Illinois Bar.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and global team environment.
