Our Defence and Security practice provides design and engineering services for nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. We are experiencing exciting growth with long‑term prospects within our established practice, covering more than 140 civil/structural projects. We seek Structural Engineers with transferable skills who are passionate about development and meeting new challenges.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and design large industrial facilities such as power‑station buildings, large manufacturing plants and dockyards.
- Develop solutions through all RIBA stages in highly regulated environments supporting air, land, and sea defence establishments, the UK nuclear submarine fleet, and existing or new build nuclear power stations.
- Engage in seismic analysis, blast analysis, finite element analysis, and soil‑structure interaction as required.
- Prepare project deliverables and manage quality, budget, programme and resources.
- Prepare bids and proposals, and build strong working relationships with clients.
Qualifications
- Good all‑round technical design expertise using British, American, and international standards, and/or Eurocodes.
- Proven ability to manage projects and prepare project deliverables, including managing quality, budget, programme and resources.
- Strong understanding of structural theory and proven problem‑solving ability.
- Proven experience preparing bids and proposals, and developing good working relationships with clients.
- Good, accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Ideally Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer, or working towards this with support available.

- Hybrid working with 1‑2 days in the office; accommodation offered for any UK office.
- Occasional site visits may be necessary.
