Technician – Electrical – Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting EDF Energy Nuclear Operations with their nuclear fleet in the UK. This key role is based at Heysham Power Station on the Stations Services team. The role reports to the Site General Manager and Field Supervisors and involves supporting work across the UK nuclear power station fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support routine maintenance, routine testing, complete refurbishment, modification and outage support activities for plant and systems.
  • Carry out work within highly regulated environments and maintain high safety standards and culture.
  • Communicate and organise effectively, develop relationships, maintain networks, be results‑focused and work in a team‑centred approach.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Safety‑critical understanding or experience within a structured organisation.
  • Demonstrates high engineering and health and safety standards.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Civil, Construction & Commissioning.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Lifting and Moving Loads.
  • Completion of Apprenticeship in an appropriate technical discipline.
  • Proven experience as Technician (or relevant role).
  • Excellent knowledge of plant, machinery, systems and components.
  • Aptitude in using hand tools and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to follow procedures, read Work Order Cards, RAMS, instructions, blueprints, schematic diagrams, general arrangements, building layout / containment drawings, and knowledge of assigned systems such as HVAC.
