At Amentum, we are recruiting for a senior role supporting the Programme Director directly.
The Deputy Programme Director will oversee performance and interface with the client, leading project execution and business planning across complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of contract proposals and ensure deliverable plans are in place, including necessary resources and supply chain strategies.
- Oversee the development and adherence to Project Execution Plans for all phases and coordinate implementation across project teams and portfolio.
- Lead project performance and internal accountabilities, reporting status against key performance indicators, schedule goals, milestones, financial, EV and commercial metrics.
- Review key performance measures and contractual metrics, providing direction on corrective measures when performance is outside acceptable tolerances.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and opportunities, ensuring portfolio and business risks are addressed.
- Work with the Programme Director to develop, update and meet financial goals of the business unit, including annual operating budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Support business development efforts, increasing scope of services on existing contracts and supporting bids and proposals for new contracts.
- Collaborate with Project Directors, Sr. Project Directors, and Project Managers to deliver projects, mentor junior staff, and foster a high‑performing team culture.
- Act as primary client interface, participating in periodic updates, strategic development, negotiations, and formal presentations.
- Maintain professional representation of Amentum and uphold company values.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific field.
- Proven senior plant operational experience.
- Strong relationship, collaboration, and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with ability to apply operational principles and legislative standards.
- Experience dealing with regulators and maintaining plant functionality and compliance.
- Ability to gain and maintain SC Clearance.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered engineer.
- Demonstrated capability to interface with customers and provide direction to technically qualified personnel.
