About the Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager (Control & Instrumentation) to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK.

The role is based predominantly at Sizewell B Power Station with some travel to other UK sites.

You will be mentored by experienced project engineering management professionals and have opportunities to develop leadership skills on larger, more complex projects.

You will report to the client Project Manager, Programme Manager and/or Construction Manager, and you will be part of a large client-led team.

Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible.

Responsibilities

  • Project Managers are accountable to the client PPM for successful delivery of all aspects of their assigned projects.
  • The Project Manager sets the project execution strategy in agreement with the client PPM and uses a cross-functional project team to deliver the project safely in line with company policies and procedures, achieving established goals and objectives within the agreed baseline.
  • This role has no direct reports.
  • The role will be based at the EDF Sizewell B Power Station and will require occasional business travel to other UK sites/stations.
  • You will report to the business Operations Manager and be accountable for project delivery directly to the client.
  • All team members should have a proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to develop relationships, maintain effective networks, and be results-focused with a team-centered approach.

Qualifications

  • Degree educated, ideally in engineering or a related subject, with chartership preferred; APMP formal project management qualification or equivalent, and familiarity with modern project management techniques in complex, multi-functional organisations.
  • Understanding of engineering, design, procurement, safety cases, construction and installation/commissioning management, and commercial contracting.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Safety Cases and how they are developed and implemented, plus relevant Health and Safety and Environment legislation including CDM and compliance actions.
  • Solid understanding of quality management and how quality is assured and controlled, with experience in commercial, contractual, and financial project drivers.
  • Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, ideally across multiple complex disciplines, including management of an integrated project team (staff, agency, and functional support).
  • Experience in estimating, cost control, planning, and commercial awareness, including business case preparation and sanction/funding papers.
  • Experience in preparing reports using Word, Excel, and Power Point; proficient in estimating, scheduling, programming, risk tools, and Earned Value management.
  • An analytical approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience at Power Stations and Nuclear Licensed Sites is preferred but not essential.
