Project Manager (Civils) – EDF Energy Nuclear Generation, supporting the nuclear fleet in the UK. Based largely at Sizewell B Power Station, the role supports a large client‑led team in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable to the client Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) for successful delivery of all aspects of assigned projects.
- Develop the project execution strategy in agreement with the client PPM, using a cross‑functional project team.
- Deliver projects safely in line with company policies, procedures, and safety case requirements.
- Achieve established goals and objectives within the agreed baseline and commercial targets.
- Provide regular project progress reports to the business Operations Manager and the client.
- Assume responsibility for project delivery with no direct managers.
- Travel occasionally to other UK sites/stations as required.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering or a related subject.
- Preferably Chartered Project Manager, APMP, or equivalent formal project‑management qualification.
- Experience managing projects throughout the full lifecycle, ideally complex multi‑disciplinary projects in nuclear or similar high‑safety sectors.
- Strong understanding of safety cases, health and safety, environment legislation (CDM), and quality assurance processes.
- Commercial and financial project drivers experience, including cost control, planning, and business case preparation.
- Proficient in project management tools: estimating, scheduling, programming, risk tools, and Earned Value.
- Analytical approach with high‑level problem‑solving ability.
- Experience at Power Stations and nuclear licensed sites preferred.
