Amentum is recruiting a Practitioner Planner of Practitioner level to join the Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with its nuclear fleet in the UK.
As part of the Project Management Resource team, you will be based at EDF’s Dungeness B location and will support multiple projects within their UK‑wide portfolio, focusing on nuclear defueling and nuclear decommissioning.
Responsibilities
- Accountable to the client Project Controls Group Head, PPM and/or Operations Manager, responsible for developing and managing schedules that incorporate risk, change, resource requirements and cost in accordance with EDF Generation Company requirements and standards.
- Develop full‑project‑life‑cycle plans, including development and design in the Nuclear Defueling team, and support the delivery of the client’s ALR2 commitments.
- Work within highly regulated environments with stringent safety standards, maintaining strong communication and organisational skills, building relationships and maintaining effective networks while focusing on results and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Minimum of HNC/HND ideally in an engineering discipline or relevant experience.
- Broad experience across the whole project and programme lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes).
- Experience with the latest version of Primavera.
- Ability to develop, control, monitor, analyse and report on schedule‑related aspects for designated projects within a portfolio.
- Establish and monitor a cost‑ and resource‑loaded, logic‑linked baseline plan in accordance with Programme Office processes.
- Capture project budgetary costs and resources in the plan to determine time phasing of expenditure and the total project budget.
- Design robust Work Breakdown and Project Control Structures aligned with project scope and Investment Delivery processes, templates and procedures.
- Leadership to ensure the project plan embraces the full work scope, is fit for purpose and achievable.
- Experience integrating 3rd‑party schedules and data into the overall project plan.
- Strong communication skills at all management levels and the ability to produce monthly reports, providing intelligent information and analysis.
