Amentum is recruiting a Cost Engineer to support key project deliverables across our nuclear project portfolio. This role reports to the Project Controls Manager and will be based in the UK, with hybrid working between our Knutsford or Warrington offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cost management activities for major frameworks for our key clients across the Energy Division.
  • Develop and manage framework projects, integrating risk, change, resource requirements and cost in accordance with Amentum standards.
  • Reconcile cost information throughout the programme life‑cycle and produce monthly reports for all levels of management.
  • Build effective relationships and interact with internal and external stakeholders across multiple locations.
  • Gather client needs, interpret them into innovative solutions, and present actionable information to the project team.
  • Maintain robust work‑breakdown and project control structures based on investment delivery templates and procedures.
  • Use estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools to support project decisions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an HNC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Good working knowledge of financial systems and the full project and programme life‑cycle (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
  • Strong understanding of the inter‑relationship between time, cost and commercial aspects of the project life‑cycle.
  • Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, programming and risk management tools.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to produce clear monthly reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain robust work‑breakdown, project control structures and to challenge as necessary for compliance.

Working Conditions

  • The role may require business travel to UK sites and stations.
  • Flexible working arrangements between office and home are possible.
