Key Areas of Expertise
- Safety Case production and management e.g. engineering changes, safety reports (PSRs, PCSRs etc).
- Hazard and Risk identification and assessment studies, e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, ALARP.
- Internal and external hazard assessments.
- Deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments (PSA).
- Nuclear licensing and authorisations.
- Integrating safety principles into engineering designs.
- Structural integrity design/assessment of nuclear‑related structures and components.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering technical work to support the demonstration that a facility or system can be operated safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and developing solutions.
- Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and other third parties.
- Helping to maintain the technical capability/knowledge of the community and mentoring team members (as appropriate).
What You'll Need
- A degree (or equivalent demonstrable experience) in a STEM discipline.
- Experience of executing project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
- Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Chartered Member of a professional institute (or equivalent demonstrable experience) or working towards either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
