About the Opportunity
The Decommissioning Alliance (TDA) is a strategic partnership operating within the DNWP framework and delivering critical decommissioning work at Sellafield, including the UK’s most challenging Legacy Ponds facilities. The role supports the safe and efficient delivery of construction packages, ensuring electrical construction activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered in accordance with project objectives, regulatory obligations and safety standards.
Role: Electrical Works Controller
Works Controllers are site‑based professionals responsible for managing, controlling, and overseeing all TDA construction activities, operating on behalf of the TDA Construction Manager. They play a critical role in ensuring construction operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory, client, and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise electrical construction activities within the TDA framework at Sellafield.
- Ensure all works comply with safety culture, regulatory compliance, and CDM requirements.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager and other stakeholders to meet programme objectives and continuous improvement goals.
- Monitor and report on the progress of electrical works to maintain safety and quality standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent recognised health & safety qualification.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrable technical knowledge within a relevant construction or engineering discipline.
- Experience in the delivery, supervision, and coordination of complex construction activities.
- Good understanding of safety culture, regulatory compliance, and CDM requirements.
- Previous industrial experience, ideally within nuclear, defence, or similarly high‑hazard sectors.
