At Amentum, we are looking for a Cost Manager to join our Nuclear Power Programmes team, supporting major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. The role reports to the Cost Lead and focuses on delivering accurate project cost information and effective cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Cost Lead in implementing cost systems, procedures and templates.
  • Assist project teams to provide timely and accurate cost information, including EAC, ETC, ACWP and baseline comparisons.
  • Track actual costs against cost control structures.
  • Execute cost re-baseline exercises, forecast and budget updates as required.
  • Analyze project cost information to support programme objectives such as earned value and trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to ensure accurate accruals and contract costs are reflected in overall EAC and performance reports.
  • Analyze change requests, ensuring cost data is correctly coded (CBS) and aligned with budgets.
  • Act as a point of contact for basic user support/training on cost tools.

Qualifications

  • Educated to professional standard and a membership of an appropriate body, or equivalent degree level.
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication skills to convey cost and performance information to peers and managers.
  • Proactive and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail and skilled at analysing cost data.
  • Comfortable with challenging assumptions and processes to continually improve performance data delivery.
  • Working knowledge of cost management functions, including cost estimating, control and analysis.
  • Experience identifying, analysing and solving problems.
  • Understanding of cost management/forecasting tools such as PRISM, EcoSys or Cobra.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Methodologies.
  • Experience working within Project Controls in a Major Programme environment.
