About the opportunity: Energy, Engineering and Technical Services is one of our newest Business Units, formed to support positive change and shape the future of Nuclear Power. Our embedded teams deliver support to projects including Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, develop SMR capabilities, and contribute to Poland's first Energy Power station. We operate in client-facing and internal roles delivering major programme and project management throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Perform replication analysis from HPC to SZC of fluid system designs.
- Analyze and verify input data, requirements, and lessons learned from other stations; set up processes for replication of HPC system design documents (part of the System Design Manual — process requirements and description, mechanical and I&C sizing).
- If adaptation from HPC to SZC is required: size components (e.g., pumps, pipework, tanks) and perform thermal-hydraulic calculations and modeling with in-house or commercial tools.
- Surveil new contractor design documents on demineralisation plants; update configuration data tools and documentation to integrate design modifications (mechanical, I&C, safety).
- Update and manage design modifications, assess applicability, and maintain design stability through cross-discipline solutions.
- Develop and present technical solutions supporting design stability strategy across disciplines.
- Resolve technically challenging, multi-disciplinary open points in a timely, proactive manner.
- Participate in preparation for commissioning strategy of systems; attend kick-off meetings, maturity reviews and gate reviews.
- Produce updated documentation and redlines as required; support commissioning teams with system inputs for documentation during commissioning.
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification; experience in hydraulic and mechanical sizing, instrumentation and control, with basic electrical notions.
- 3+ years' experience in process engineering or relevant experience in the nuclear industry.
- Ability to manage workload to produce high-quality documents and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of EPR system design principles, Instrumentation and Control architecture, and safety classification is desirable.
