Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy Alignment: Analyse clients’ business strategy and objectives, identify critical success factors and areas where IT can contribute.
  • IT Infrastructure and Systems: Evaluate existing IT infrastructure, assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement.
  • Enterprise Architecture Modelling: Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise architecture models representing IT landscapes, including business processes, data flows, and technology components.
  • IT Strategy and Roadmap: Formulate long‑term IT strategies that align with business goals, outline future investments, initiatives, and technology adoption plans.
  • Project Governance and Oversight: Guide and oversee IT projects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
  • Innovation and Technology Assessment: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, evaluate their potential impact and recommend appropriate adoption strategies.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the client organization.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and assess IT‑related risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance IT architectures to keep them aligned with evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and collaborating within high‑performing teams.
  • Experience working within the UK MOD or Critical National Infrastructure.
  • At least 5 years’ experience on Defence or CNI IT systems.

Desirable Qualifications / Frameworks

  • TOGAF 9 / Unified Architecture Framework
  • Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA)
  • ArchiMate Certified Expert
  • IT4IT Foundation
  • Certified Solution Architect: AWS or Azure
