Amentum is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to support configuration data tools, documentation, and commissioning activities for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear projects.
Responsibilities
- Update configuration data tools and system documentation (electrical, I&C, safety) to incorporate design modifications.
- Manage requests for system modifications, checking applicability and feasibility.
- Develop and present technical solutions for all impacted disciplines, ensuring design stability.
- Resolve technical challenges and multi‑disciplinary open points proactively and timely.
- Participate in commissioning strategy preparation, kick‑off meetings, maturity reviews, and gate reviews.
- Produce updated documentation and/or redlines as required.
- Support commissioning teams with system inputs needed for the commissioning sequence documentation.
- Provide reactive back‑office support during on‑site electrical systems commissioning for the SZC project.
- Participate in tendering phase contract activities (clarification meetings, bid assessment, contract surveillance).
- Engage in surveillance activities, including monitoring and surveillance of contractors.
- Attend regular progress meetings with contractors.
- Manage contractual activities, claims, and additional work requests.
- Engage in overall electrical distribution engineering tasks (Load List Management, Electrical Power Balances, Cabinet List Management).
- Issue replication analysis from HPC to SZC for fluid system designs.
- Analyze and verify input data, requirements, and lessons learned from other stations.
- Set up processes for replicating HPC system design documents (part of the System Design Manual, mechanical and I&C sizing).
Qualifications
- Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in producing design documentation.
- Relevant experience in the nuclear industry.
- Ability to manage workload to deliver high‑quality documents within deadlines.
- Proactive in building positive working relationships within the project team.
- Continuous improvement mindset for the quality of engineering studies and documentation.
