We are recruiting a Secondary Steel Erection Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all secondary steel erection activities on site to ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day secondary steel erection activities on site.
- Allocate and coordinate manpower, plant, equipment and materials to meet planned construction targets.
- Ensure erection activities follow approved method statements, lift plans and construction procedures.
- Coordinate with engineering and planning teams to ensure drawings, materials and work packs are available ahead of site execution.
- Monitor work progress and productivity, identifying and escalating delays or constraints.
- Supervise subcontractors and erection crews carrying out secondary steel installation, alignment, bolting and completion works.
- Ensure permit‑to‑work systems and site controls are implemented correctly.
- Interface with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and piping teams to ensure integrated site execution.
- Enforce compliance with project HSE policies, risk assessments and safety plans and lead toolbox talks, site briefings and safety observations to promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure secondary steel works meet applicable codes, standards and QA/QC requirements.
- Support inspections, dimensional checks, punch‑listing and completion documentation for handover.
- Report daily progress, manpower levels, issues and safety observations to site management and identify site risks, raise technical queries and support resolution of construction issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical qualification or apprenticeship in steel erection, structural fabrication or related discipline.
- Significant experience supervising steel erection or structural installation works on large construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of steel erection practices, lifting operations, bolting and alignment activities.
