The role of Quality Engineer (QE) is to provide first‑line support to the HPC Quality team and Responsible Designer (RD) to ensure SWITCH associated NCR processes meet HPC business requirements and quality standards. The QE manages and supports NCRs within SWITCH to maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage both reactive and proactive improvement initiatives for SWITCH and PowerBI tools, collaborating with stakeholders to identify and implement meaningful enhancements.
  • Implement technical functionality for SWITCH (managed via Jira Kanban), coordinate and deliver scheduled improvement releases, and maintain visibility of progress, ensuring timely resolution of items.
  • Perform pre and post‑implementation testing to identify defects and report them for resolution before release or re‑release.
  • Take ownership of, maintain and disseminate a suite of SWITCH NCR guidance material to ensure content is clear, accurate and aligned with the latest tool development and process changes.
  • Oversee updates and structural improvements to the SWITCH NCR eNZO page, maintaining it as a go‑to resource for all stakeholders.
  • Support the development, refinement and maintenance of SWITCH NCR PowerBI dashboards to support data‑driven decision‑making, improving performance and usability.
  • Manage the SWITCH NCR mailbox, handling BAU onboarding requests.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Background or understanding of Quality Management, including best practice deployment by large, complex, contract‑led organisations.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to influence and provide constructive challenge accepted by others.
  • Capability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and implement practical solutions while remaining open to the ideas of others.
  • Confident and articulate communicator, capable of presenting material to large audiences.
