Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Fuels Accountant to support a new government contract based in Diego Garcia.

Purpose / Scope

Establish and operate the finance and budget office, coordinate data collection and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Must be knowledgeable of manual and automated fuel management and account systems.
  • Prepare budgets and financial data for Fuels Terminal Manager review and approval.
  • Oversee procurement operations, transactions, and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, contract requirements and Government regulations.
  • Develop contract modification documents to include cost estimates and supporting rationale for modification.
  • Develop and submit monthly invoices to the Government.
  • Prepare monthly reports in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Deliver items to customers by verifying orders, inventory stock, and arranging transportation.
  • Verify items shipped by matching bills, reconciling, and noting.
  • Operation bulk storage, hydrants, checkpoint, lox, and be able to dispatch.
  • Computes the amount of fuel required for the safe completion of flight according to type of aircraft, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions and minimum fuel requirements prescribed by federal aviation regulations.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of five years of experience in Fuels account processing.
  • Responsible for proper accounting, reporting, end-of-month close process and reconciliations.
  • Keep up-to-date with regulations and standards, collaborate with auditing teams to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and prepare and participate in audits and inspections.
  • Adhere to safety precautions and use appropriate protective gear.
  • Experience in the scheduling and ordering of nonconventional fuels and related commodities including hypergols, cryogenic and gas commodities.
  • Understanding and knowledge of programs to schedule, track and report on commodity orders, deliveries and discrepancies.
  • Records management experience.
  • Three years’ experience in a leadership role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas as required by the U. S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.

Work Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.

Government operations.

Employees may work in offices, industrial warehouses, ports, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain.

Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Physical Requirements

  • Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
